Keep in mind that heavy-duty trailers can be both a single or a [tandem axle design](https://muscletrailers.com.au/product-category/tandem-trailers/). If you’ll be carrying heavier loads, the [tandem axle](https://muscletrailers.com.au/tandem-axle-trailer-fenders/) is the better option as it has stronger suspension.

On the other hand, [single axle trailers](https://muscletrailers.com.au/single-axle-trailer-fenders/) are more affordable, both in their purchase price and maintenance costs. They also have less of an impact on your fuel consumption. Since they are lighter, your truck will need less energy to pull it.

Heavy-duty trailers can also be cage, box, flatbed, tradesman, and [tabletop trailers](https://muscletrailers.com.au/why-buy-tabletop-trailer-increased-security/). They can also be customised with a different sized axle, an added spare wheel, [higher walls or mesh cage](https://muscletrailers.com.au/product/7x5-box-trailer-fully-welded-fully-galvanised-mesh-cage-heavy-duty/), and improved brakes.
